THE RULES
___________________________________________________________________
THE BASICS.
one, we ask that you respect and follow not our rules, but the proboards terms of service if you're breaking these rules then it might not be just you in trouble, but the whole forum so please be considerate.
two, act appropriately and politely basically, be nice. this should be an obvious rule. if you encounter someone being disrespectful in any form, please notify a member of staff immediately instead of trying to deal with the situation yourself. we will not hesitate to ban anyone who causes trouble.
three, follow the basic role playing guideline, and by this we mean - no godmodding, no power playing, and especially no mary-sues or anything else of that nature. if you're unsure of basic roleplaying etiquette pm a staff member or just talk to someone in the cbox and you will be filled in quickly on what is/isn't appropriate.
four, as for graphics, we will accept nothing larger than 500x500. the image resize code will kick in if your image is greater than the sizes specified and it will be shrunk down to fit the forum but, we prefer it if this code doesn't have to be used.
POSTING GUIDELINES.
please note that we rate this site as an 'intermediate' ability roleplay, so if you find yourself completely unable to fulfill the guidelines below then we suggest that lion & lamb may not be the site for you but, we do welcome beginners who want to reach an intermediate standard.
one, we'd like to see all posts being a minimum of five hundred words. this isn't a hard rule to follow considering most of you already post within this limit. you don't have to get anal by counting each word but it would be ideal if you kept this in mind and shot to make your posts this long if not longer. usually, this adds up to three paragraphs or more if they're well written with a little bit of detail.
two, all posts should be posted in third person. simple as that.
for example: bella ran her fingers through her hair as she bit on her lip in frustration.
three, we're wanting everyone to write in a paragraph format. please, no one liners. you should have 4-8 sentences (if not more) in each paragraph.
four, there are a lot of different posting formats that people are using on this site. you can use what you want but a suggestion would be the 'blockquote' format because that seems to create a very nice, easy to read, and organized post. all you do is simply wrap your post in:your post [/*blockquote] (remove the star). easy as that. please look to either bella cullen, carmen lawton, or jesse lefay's posts if you need an example.
CHARACTER LIMITATIONS.
one, any individual can start off with two characters right off the bat. these characters can be two original characters or one original & one canon. you will not be allowed to have two canon characters right away because it wouldn't be fair for others.
two, you may make a third character once both pre-existing characters have been established on the site. for this, we're looking for a minimum word count of 40+ posts on each character. this may sound like a lot but, we have seen too many people create so many characters that they literally cannot handle them all and they become neglected.
three, if you wish to have a fourth character or more, all existing characters you already have will have to match the 40+ posts rule as well.
four, however, if you already have two characters but feel as if you need a third for extensive plot purposes, you may pm a member of staff to grant you permission to make a third account without yet reaching the minimum posting limit.
happy roleplaying!
